Chaosium Releases Before The FallFour dangerous adventures concerning the quaint little hamlet of Innsmouth, Massachusetts, in whose harbor the fish always seem to bite unusually well. Now keepers have new situations for investigators to bite on as well. Tone and atmosphere are more significant in these adventures than quick shocks and visible gore. Useful as stand-alone adventures, or for insertion into campaigns as changes of pace. These four adventures are all set in Innsmouth prior to the Government Raid of 1928. Keepers may also be interested in Escape From Innsmouth a background book describing Innsmouth, and the Raid itself, and Children of the Deep, an adventure book scheduled for featuring adventures after the Government Raid of 1928. Chameleon Eclectic No Longer Publishing The Babylon ProjectBlacksburg, Virginia December 4, 1998 Chameleon Eclectic Entertainment, Inc., and Wire Frame Productions, Inc. today officially announced the end of their relationship to copublish The Babylon Project, the licensed roleplaying game based on the Warner Bros. television series BABYLON 5. Effective immediately, Chameleon Eclectic will no longer be involved in the development of new products for this line or the sales or support of existing products. Unfortunately, the existing relationship simply didn't allow us to get product out on what we think of as a reasonable schedule," commented Chameleon Eclectic president Charles Ryan. "We had and still have every confidence in this great game, but we were simply never able to work out an arrangement that got product out in a timely manner." He went on to explain that the decision to end the relationship was mutual. "This is an amicable end to this aspect of our relationship. We're very happy to have worked with Wire Frame over the past two years, and to have been so closely involved in such an exciting game. We wish them the best of luck in their future efforts, and hope they can find a way to more aggressively develop this exciting line." For the time being, Chameleon Eclectic will continue to provide nominal support for the game through existing channels such as its web site and internet mailing lists, but those support services will be transitioned over to Wire Frame in the near future. Chameleon Eclectic will no longer actively support the game. For further information on existing and future products for The Babylon Project, contact Wire Frame Productions at (540) 951-7232. FASA Announces the Sunset of EarthdawnFASA Corporation announced it will officially cease production of the Earthdawn line. Jill Lucas, President of FASA, said, "It was time to make some hard decisions. Earlier in 1998, FASA sent out 80,000 free copies of the core rules on CD ROM, and though the sales jumped considerably in response, they were still not at the level that FASA felt they needed to be to continue production. Earthdawn has had a healthy run, but as with most things, there comes a time when you must move on. FASA believes that our customers are entitled to the best product we can produce for every game line, and with two new lines being released in 1999, we felt we could not give Earthdawn the kind of continuing attention it and the players deserved. The products already available, however, were designed to give players a strong foundation on which to build continuing adventures," said Rett Kipp, marketing manager. Introduced in 1993, Earthdawn is a fantasy roleplaying game set in an ancient age of magic. As humanity emerges from its self-imposed imprisonment in underground shelters, they must fight the remnants of the Horrors, creatures from astral space that have ravaged the earth. Heroes re-explore their world, hoping to reclaim it from the devastation wrought by the centuries-long Scourge. FASA still has something to offer Earthdawn fans. To help players and gamemasters round out their campaigns, FASA is exploring the possibility of publishing the completed "Dragons" sourcebook and the remaining novels on-line. FASA will continue to offer Earthdawn products for several more months to give fans the opportunity to complete their collections White Wolf Presents The Clan Novel Series for Vampire the MasqueradeThe Clan Novels are an unprecedented 13 volume set that tells an epic story while shifting perspective from vampire clan to clan. Atlas Games Releases Unknown Armies"A brand-new roleplaying game of transcendental horror and furious action: Pulp Fiction meets Hellraiser. What will you risk to change the world?" 23 November, 1998--Atlas Games poses this question to roleplayers in January with the release of Unknown Armies, a new roleplaying game of transcendental horror and furious action. Conceived and designed by co-authors Greg Stolze (Usagi Yojimbo) and John Tynes (Delta Green), the game emphasizes emotional realism and complex narratives in its presentation of a reality controlled by unseen forces. Set in the present day, Unknown Armies offers a turbulent world of clandestine warfare and occult intrigue in which the cosmos will soon die and be reborn. Next time around, the world might be a terrible place - or it could be paradise. It's up to the actions of individual men and women to decide the outcome, for good or ill. Players take the roles of movers and shakers in the occult underground, fighting a battle for the ultimate prize: ascension to a higher plane and a hand in creating the next incarnation of reality. The result is a high-octane mix of action, horror, and drama unlike any other roleplaying game on the market. Loathsome monsters, bizarre supernatural forces, mind-bending magic, warring cults, and ten thousand bullets-it's a pulp apocalypse, and the players have front-row seats for the steel-cage death match of all eternity. Stolze and Tynes are both veteran roleplaying game writers and designers. Between them, they've made major contributions to numerous roleplaying game lines, including Call of Cthulhu, Everway, Feng Shui, In Nomine, Legend of the Five Rings, Over the Edge, and more. "We're thrilled to have the opportunity to bring this cutting-edge game to market, " said Atlas President John Nephew. Unknown Armies was originally to have been published by Archon Gaming, Inc. When Archon was unable to pursue the project, Stolze and Tynes brought it to Atlas. Unknown Armies will be published as a 224-page, perfect bound book, featuring cover art by Thomas Manning and interior art by Jason Alexander, Andy Bennett, Paul Carrick, Felipe Echevarria, Earl Geier, Paul Herbert, Thomas Manning, Bob Modelski, Rob Nemeth, Dan Parsons, Jim Pavelec, Matt Roach, and Brian Snoddy, Atlas plans to release a full line of support materials for Unknown Armies, starting with One Shots, a book of scenarios, in February of 1999.
