The cross-roads may appear to be deserted, however, there are Haitian defenders in improvised cover near some roadblocks. (a) To the south the roadblock is defended by poor quality militia (they will open fire as soon as US forces come within 50 yards of the roadblock, but will flee as soon as either the LAV-25's lay down heavy fire or they receive 2 casualties. Defenders: 3 Militiamen & (A,A,Q,Q,R,Y). Road leads to Mobayard Plantation (#8). (b) The road to the east leads to Renato Village (#4) and is protected by regulars of the Armee Haitien. They'll stand and fight until the US forces outflank them, or 4+ casualties are received. They will then withdraw off table. Defenders: 6 Regulars & (A,A,B,B,C,D). (c) The road to the south west is indeed clear. It leads only to the gorge at Mobayard. The road is particularly unsuitable for heavy vehicles. No defenders but locals angrily wave their machetes.
