Lone Warrior Index

by David McCann

David was assisted by Godfrey Bailey on Issues 1-23, has produced an Index of items contained with in Lone Warrior from Edition #1 to #107 and you cannot get more up to date than that The Index is divided into:

1. General. This covers Books, Club & Societies, Holiday locations Humour, memoirs, Military History, Models & Gadgets, Scenarios, Wargames; Rules & Principles.

2. Naval Warfare and Games.

3. Air warfare and Games.

4. Science Fiction Games.

5. Fantasy Games.

There are 9 A4 pages of double column print. The above categories are further divided in order to assist in finding the article type you are interested in. For an example: Military History is divided into General, Ancient & Medieval, Pike & Shot, 18th Century, Napoleonic Wars, 19th Century, 20th Century. To find an article first find the main heading (Military History), then the second heading/period (Pike & Shot) and then the article itself (Feudal Japan). The entry reads: Feudal Japan, 105 (20-1). This means the article on Feudal Japan is in LW 105 on pages 20 - 21. I have tried it and the system works very well. Please note that Davi, uses Lone Warrior Numbers and not the Volume System both to save space and for ease of reference.

There are 218 scenario titles, some like "Gussie" ran for 32 editions! "Greece 279 BC" ran for 6 editions. This Index is excellent and is long over due. I would like to thank David on behalf of the SWA for the hard work he has put into this Herculean task. In his covering letter David states that Nif you want to print it as a booklet and make a modest charge, hopefully it will help replenish the coffers". For the full Index £ 2 plus 50p UK postage, overseas please include 2 IRC. Available from the Editor.
