SOCIETY MISSION STATEMENT

The Society's aims are to highlight the full extent of the life of King Charles I.  This includes both his kingly persona and the man himself.

In post-millennium Britain with its established democracy, it's easy to dismiss Charles I and the Royalist cause as tyrannical and by highlighting Charles and his cause in full, we hope to expand modern day thought about one of our most controversial monarchs.

Our secondary aim is to promote learning in and knowledge of The English Civil War to the modern public.  The 17th century was a century of immense change which played a phenomenal role in shaping the Britain we know of today and also a century which nurtured such advancements in health, science and the arts.
