Well, a New Year is dawning. With it, the Dealer Committee will be working harder than ever to improve the selection of vendors at Advance The Colors 2005. Some of you have commented on what needs to be done, and some of you have already suggested dealers for us. We thank you for that. Now, we need your help more than ever. What can you do? Plenty, for starters! We need suggestions as to which dealers the membership would like to see at ATC next year. Also, a lot of you get to more conventions than many of us on the Dealer Committee (or, at least, I) do. We need you to "talk the convention up" to these dealers as you see them. We need you to help us sell ATC! In the past, some of them may have considered us "small time" or thought we were not "Dealer friendly". You can help us change all that by telling them what a great event ATC is and how they would be missing out by not attending. We on the committee can always use some help, too. Right now, it is composed of Jack Shaw, David van Hoose, Steve Smith, our esteemed Newsletter Editor Mike Demana and myself. If you want to join us, NOW is the time -- not next month or this spring. What if you don't have time to join? Even easier! Simply e-mail or snail mail us your suggestions for dealers. Obviously there are some dealers that can't make it, like Brookhurst Hobbies, out of L.A., who doesn't even attend Cold Wars. Who knows, though? After we contact them, they may still decide to support us by sending merchandise for raffles or prizes. Either way, we really need you to give us your "Wish List" for ATC. The response to the appeal printed last issue in The Herald was thunderously silent. Come on, folks! It's easy! Just e-mail us, write us, Hell, call us (our contact information is on the inside front cover). We'd love to cover your favorite era, but how can we if we don't know about it? Naturally, we'll do our best, but it will carry more weight with the dealers to know the Membership at large is requesting their attendence, rather than a select few. Here are the questions we'd like you to answer for us:
Here is a sample response (but list as many dealers as you like):
