by Great Lakes Chairman of the Board Jack E. Shaw, Sr.
The 2004 Election for three Board of Directors seats is now history, and here are the results. Candidates were David Van Hoose, Doug Johnson, Jack Shaw and Tusk Stevens. David, Doug and Jack were all incumbents. E-mail voting was allowed for the first time, with 10 votes being cast. There were 22 votes received by mail, with one of the 22 being a late vote, received after the deadline for voting. Here are the candidates, according to the number of votes.
The numbers of ballots equals roughly 10% of the membership. Congratulations to the winners -- and a thank you to Tusk Stevens, for being a candidate, and to Mike Stelzer, our write in (and to Steve Sattler, our Elections Officer). The new term will begin Jan. 1, 2005, and run until Dec. 31, 2007. I'd also like to thank everyone that took time to vote. With the Holidays upon us, I hope everyone has a happy and safe Holiday Season. Hopefully, we all received more lead to paint. After the Holidays, the conventions will be getting into full swing -- I look forward to seeing many of you in the coming months.
