by Great Lakes Chairman of the Board Jack E. Shaw, Sr.
It's hard to believe, but ATC is just weeks away, and I'm really starting to get excited. We'll be in a new place, this year -- a museum and historical building: The Heritage Center of Clark County in downtown Springfield, OH. Think about it...in between games, you can visit the museum and see local and Ohio History. See more about ATC elsewhere in this issue. We still need some volunteers to staff various areas, too. With your help, ATC can only get better. A valued Great Lakes member and a good friend spent some time in the hospital a few weeks ago. Jim Thomasson of the Colby Street Irregulars, had a heart attack when an artery closed. Jim had two stints put in and was home in a couple of days following the procedure. I received an e-mail from Jim after he got home and he said he was doing fine and was making a few changes in his life style. Take care, Jim. As we get older we have to be aware of health choices, and choose wisely. A reminder that there are three Board seats up for election, this year. The term for a members of the Board of Directors is three years I really enjoyed Origins this year, and it took me the better part of three days to recover from the fun. One of the best parts of any convention if meeting other Great Lakes Members that you see at Convention time. I met Marc Shefelton and he played in one of my Galley Wars games. Marc, don't join the Navy. The seas aren't big enough for you to Captain a ship! I also played Marc in the Open DBA Tourney and I wasn't real nice to him (I beat him in our game). Just a reminder, Marc: Don't take heavy chariots into the woods after Psiloi. I also enjoyed Friday supper at Origins with Mike Czar. Thanks Mike, the conversation and food was great. Until next time, be safe. 3 seats up for election on GL Board: Why not run? Three seats on the HMGS Great Lakes Board of Directors are up for election this year. The terms are for three years each.
