Hoplites and Phalanxes (H&P) is a semi-historical, grand strategic game (not simulation) set in the years 3000 BC to 1500 AD. The game will be run as a play-by-mail, with monthly turns. The game will stress military and diplomatic aspects, while ignoring those boring things like commerce, etc. I say grand strategic, because each player in the game takes the role of head of state, as opposed to more specific campaigns in which players act as army commanders, etc. Thus, the players are usually walking the line between military solutions and diplomatic ones, a situation usually not encountered in more focused campaigns. Please note that the game has been set-up for DBM, but you can still play the game, even if you don't care or are unable to play the battles.
