by Great Lakes Chairman of the Board Jack E. Shaw, Sr.
Another Election for the Board of Directors is now history. Two seats on the Board were available. Tom Bryant and Ernie Baker had thrown their hats into the fray. Ernie was running for the Board seat previously occupied by Rich Smethurst and Tom ran to retain his current Board seat. One write-in vote was cast, for Mike Stelzer. Our Election Director Jeff Chattin, turned in the following
results: 19 Total Ballots received.
I'd like to thank Rich Smethhurst for his service on the Board of Directors with a WELL DONE. Rich will still be a valuable part of Great Lakes, and I'm sure will still contribute further to our Chapter. This was also the first time voting by e-mail (3 ballots) was permitted (to make up for lost or late Heralds). Thanks, Jeff, for a job well done. The new terms will start Jan. 1, 2004. With the new terms, the Board of Directors are making a few changes with duties.
With the new year comes another year of conventions for Great Lakes. More information is available elsewhere in The Herald. I'd like to see more members help us out, whether it's a hour or so at the registration table, moving tables, running games -- every little bit helps!
