I want to thank all of you for making Origins 2003 the largest tournament ever in Ohio. I hope that this is just the beginning. Congratulations to the winner, Al Applegate and his S. Dynasty Chinese army. One note: Dan Hazelwood was awarded the 25mm trophy for the best medieval army (Books III & IV), as there was no 25mm trophy. Here are the results:
Our next DBM tournament will be on Saturday, Sept. 13, at Advance the Colors in Springfield, OH (Holiday Inn, exit 54 on I-70). All players will have to be registered by 9:30 am, after that, it will be on a first come, first served basis. The tourney will use DBM 3.0, three 3.5 hour rounds, 400 APs, two lists, same geographic area and time period. Games willÊend when time is called on the defenders bound.ÊÊRounds will start at 10 am, 2pmÊand 6pm. NASAMW's Ohio Valley Hoplites will sponsor the event (and will also provide a trophy for the DBA tournament on Saturday). Players may pre-register by emailing me at: rhartle@columbus.rr.com. Include your army name, book number, list number and your name and address. Nowscon Don't forget NOWSCON on Saturday, Sept. 27. E-mail Wayne at Ux2QC@msn.com if you plan to attend their 25mm tournament. It will be at the Berea Elks Lodge, 626 N. Rocky River Dr., Berea, OH. Hoplite Etiquette As a result of the survey and other discussions within our group, the following will be observed at all of our tournaments. Most of you like the dice. From here on out, dice will be made available and will only be mandatory at our championship at CAPCON. The reason for the dice is that they are provided by Chessex and will as long as we use them. As a matter of etiquette, if you request that your opponent use a dice cup, you shall use one as well.In all the years of running DBM tournaments (I think its been almost 10 years), I have not found any cheating. So, don't take this as any indication that there has been any. Starting now, we will end our games on defenders bound when "time" has been called. So even if the attacker has just rolled pip dice, the defender will still gets his/her bound after the attacker's bound. We will continue to play 400 APs in 15mm, 350 APs for 25mm (3.5 hours for 15mm and 25mm. The 15mm mini (200 AP) will still be two hours. I hope that this addresses most of our discussions in the past few months. I hope to see you all at ATC.
