MAC March Madness in Indy

Convention Recap

by Scott Jeske

(Ed. Note: My apologies to the Indiana MAC folks for holding this back last issue and making it less timely)

Here are the results of last weekends March Madness tournament and an update to the MAC's standings after two events. Again, thanks go to Mark Webb and the crew of 19 & 1 for their efforts in organizing our tournament. Hopefully, everyone had fun and will join us again at our next event.

1. Rich Novak, Moldavian, 1401 AD, 87 points
2. Mike Pfanenstiel, Mu Jong Hsiem-Pi, 350 AD, 63 points
3. Pat McCabe, Alexandrian Macedonian, 355 BC, 62 points
4. Scott Jeske, Alamanni, 406 AD, 55 points
5. Sean Yeomans, Early Samuri, 1099 AD, 54 points
6. Doug Anderson, Central Asian Turkish-Uighers, 1028 AD, 53 points
7. Glen Boise, Feudal French, 1200 AD, 36 points
8. Brad Dunlap, Free Company 1409 AD, 34 points
9. Mark Webb, Later Achaemenid Persians, 420 BC, 19 points
10. Jeff Fletcher, Hsiung-Nu, 305 AD, 17 points -- Great job to all!

Since we had 6+ players, this qualifies the top four players for points (20 for 1st, 15 for 2nd, 10 for 3rd, 5 for 4th) in the Mid American Championship series as follows:

Rich Novak 20 points
Mike Pfanenstiel 15 points
Pat McCabe 10 points
Scott Jeske 5 points

Standing after two events (Viking Fury and March Madness) are as follows:
Rich Novak 20 points
Pat McCabe 10 points
Mike Pfanenstiel 20 points
Dave Smith 10 points
Scott Jeske 20 points
Doug Anderson 5 points
Jeff Fletcher 20 points

Our next event is tentatively scheduled for late May (perhaps at Nashcon), or early June. More details will be forthcoming. Remember, Origins is June 26th through 29th, and for those unable to make Historicon, GenCon is being held in Indianpolis, this year, July 24-27. I am going to run a DBM event there as long as the HMGS Great Lakes crew has room for us.
