Viking Fury

Players Brave Snow for DBM

by Scott Jeske

Eight players braved the Midwest snow and made the 1st annual Viking Fury DBM Tournament held at Lucky 13's in Princeton, IN. A good time was had by all, as the games were spirited and well fought. A special thank you to Rick and Jamie from Lucky 13's both for the accommodations and for supplying a gift certificate to the winner.

On to the results:

    1. Jeff Fletcher Southern Hsiung-Nu 306 AD 74 pts
    2. Scott Jeske Norwegian Leidang 1134 AD 65 pts
    3. Darrell Smith Skythian 190 BC 60 pts
    4. Doug Anderson Christian Nubian 1174 AD 50 pts
    4. Mike Pfanenstiel Early Achaemenid Persian 546 BC 50 pts
    6. John Meunier Nikephorian Byzantine 1018 AD 42 pts
    7. Glen Boise Feudal French 1300 AD 39 pts
    8. Mark Webb Later Achaemenid Persian 410 BC 4 pts*

This was the first event in the MAC series, and if it was any indication of what's to come, we are bound to have many successful events. We had players from St. Louis, Columbus, Owensboro (KY), Northern Ohio and Indianapolis, driving up to 6 hours. For those that were unable to make it down, we'll be looking forward to seeing you next time.

(*To be fair, this was Mark's first time playing DBM and he really put up a good fight in each of this games. He is normally an ACW player, but we should see some improvement in his next event as he was taking notes and getting better in each game he played.)
