Colby Street Update: "Well, lets see here. Christmas is gone, Ohio State rules the world for 9 months and my driveway is still a swamp.
The Convention Scene - We have sent the Johnson brothers to U-Con in Ann Arbor. They had an OK time, but said the area was not ripe for lots of historical games...oh, well. Jim went to SpartaCon to run a F&I Battle and mingle. Good time and good turnout. Connections were made with two Dealers and nine GMs for this coming Drums. Dennis is off to BashCon to run and spread flyers. The Johnsons are off to Seven Years War in March, I think. Jim will be at Battlefields for the ProCon Group at the end of March. We did not get notice of WinterCon in Detroit till after all the slots were filled -- our loss this year. Spent two weekends gaming with Mike Reese and his crew in Sterling Heights -- way up north!

Drums 4 is running along smooth. I have 12 events in print already, with eight other GMs finalizing their battles and six more on the hook. We are looking better than other previous years. The Colby Journal of the last 12 months activity is late. Again. Hey, football, exams, Christmas, cons - it builds up, you know?

Our projects: Tim and Jim's Pirate Games are about done; Yoda has fine tuned his Car Wars+ game; We have Gladiators, Darkest Africa and the Spanish-American War to begin on the paintbrush! Plus, we have 30 new 25mm vehicles for WWII and our Space Infantry Game! Time, I must get some more..." -- Colonel Colby -on the e-wire heliograph....

Our first major public event will be a public demonstration game (Barlow's Knoll) in Gettysburg at the April 6 muster of historians and writers. Dates are being picked to present wargaming demonstrations at Gettysburg in July in conjunction with the 140th anniversary celebrations and at Antietam (in the Visitors Center, most likely in June). We are also trying to get a demo ACW game at the National Civil War Museum in nearby Harrisburg, PA. We have completed the final proofreading of Volume 2 of 'Enduring Valor: Gettysburg in Miniature' and have submitted changes to the publisher. This will be for sale at Cold Wars. The manuscript for 'Undying Courage: Antietam in Miniature' has been reviewed by the National Park Service and finalized.

On our gaming table, we currently are playing the Civil War cavalry battle at Hunterstown between Custer and Hampton. This small battlefield is 20 miles from our home base in York.
