Origins 2003

GMs Needed

by Pete Panzeri

Historical miniatures game masters are needed for Origins, June 26-29, Columbus, OH. Join us again for HOT 2003 and game master an event at Origins this year! Origins will provide many HOT rewards for HMGS game masters! According to Anthony J. Gallela, Director of Events for GAMA, "We had more participation from Historical GMs and players at Origins 2002 than we have ever had! GAMA and I were ecstatic, but we are even more excited about 2003. I look forward to seeing all of you taking the field at Origins 2003!"

The HOT participants so far include HMGS Great Lakes (the hosting HMGS organization), HMGS Gamers International, Seven Years War Association, Team Old Glory, JodieCon, and many other groups and clubs. Other clubs, groups and individual GMs please answer the call soon, so you can make it into the 2003 Pre-Event List and mailings.

The deal we're working on is this: You get in free the day of the game you run (One game = 24 player hours, i.e., 6 player game with 4 hour duration, 6x4=24), and in for the weekend if you run 96 player hours worth of games (for example, 8 player game with 4 hour duration run 3 times during the weekend). Time spent working at the HOT Desk counts towards your hours! To get this deal you MUST identify yourself as a HOT GM and PLEASE send the GM application to jodie@jodiecon.org, or Jodie Panzeri, 8230 Golf Green Circle, Houston, TX 77036-4067. (Use GM form next page.)

As Gallela-at-GAMA says, "We want to get to work right away on building not just a schedule of events, but an atmosphere where historical gamers don't just want to come to Origins, but where they NEED to come." GAMA had but one question for us: What can we do/provide that will inspire historical gamers? As HOT grows yearly at Origins, historical gamers DO need to come, to both promote the hobby, and HAVE FUN!

ACT NOW! The deadline for the Pre-Event book is Jan. 10, 2003.

For more information, contact Pete Panzeri at pete@jodiecon.org or Jodie Panzeri at jodie@jodiecon.org. If you do not have internet access, please contact Mike Demana, 2513 Arborview Dr., Columbus, OH 43229.
