Greater Ann Arbor Area Mostly Historical Miniatures Gaming Group This group of University of Michigan students, staff and "regular people" meets Thursday evenings at members' homes, and once in awhile on Sunday. Colby Street Update: "What's new in the Northern Frontier of Great Lakes?
1. We have run the demo at the Fremont Civil War event.
2. Plans are for demos in December at GlasSs City Games around the second weekend.
3. Doug and Steve are running an event at this years U-Con in Ann Arbor.
4. Jim is off to SpartaCon in January to run a large French and Indian War battle.
5. The Drums staff is busy laying out Drums 4 for this coming May.
6. A short note has been posted on the e-wave and The Herald for all potential Drums GMs. We shall begin taking events AFTER Thanksgiving, to allow all of you to check your schedule and your painting progress.
7. Tim's Pirate Game is running smoother.
8. Yoda has his car game in second gear.
9. Plans for my beginner war game are going along nicely. A simple beer and pretzel game for the totally uninformed to get them curious and playing within 10 minutes.
10. The Colonel's Projects are almost finished for HIS Pirate Game, the Explorer's in Africa Game and a Victorian Jurrasic Park varient.
11. The 19th year of the Colbys is now: this November. Real spooky, here. We all had less kids, more hair and greater staying power longer into the night. Ah, age...!
12. We have the Green light to run an earlier slate on the Drums Friday and to run games at the new Fort Meigs Center. We shall keep you posted on that one. Especially when the Fort starts to renew their events, as in the past French and Indian War Battles (last one we saw there had 300+ in costume!).
13. Several gamers have repeatly asked for a copy of all of our Skirmish Rules when we run at various conventions. Soon....we promise!
14. Some future projects (some still in the bag, but...): Boxer Rebellion, American Revolution, Spanish/ American War and a larger, bigger approach to the Victorian Colonial Wars in Africa and India. Conflict Simulations Club This Indiana University group does historical miniatures, board games and fantasy/sci-fi. Gettysburg-York Update: "Scott Mingus Sr., Bryce Potts, and Scott's father, Bob Mingus, attended the Rally ÔRound the Flag wargaming demonstrations at the Hayes Presidential Center in Fremont, OH. We presented Col. Hayes' attack on Fox's Gap at South Mountain. Curt Daniels, Scott Mingus, Jr., and Scott, Sr., coordinated a very well-attended wargaming demonstration in Gettysburg as the after-dinner presentation to the MilitaryHistoryOnline.com muster, which involved three days of tramping Gettysburg under the guidance of authors, park rangers, and licensed guides. Several Gettysburg stores are now selling our "Enduring Valor: Gettysburg in Miniature" regimental-level wargaming scenario and map book. Volume 2 will be ready later this year (final proofreading stage).

Mid-Ohio Gamers' Group (M.O.G.G.) This group was formed in 1980 from a close group of friends and expanded its variety of games, held various Medieval and World War II battles at cons, and offered competitive challenges to other local clubs. The Minatures and Gaming Association at The Ohio State University This group plays a mix of historical and fantasy, on the campus of OSU. Twinsburg Wargame Association This group of around 20 wargamers gets together about once a week, usually in Club "Enlightened Despot" Rich Oster's basement. They also run games at stores around the Cleveland and Akron area. They run campaigns, including a World War I aerial Canvas Eagles one, and hold bimonthly DBA Ancients mini-tourneys.
