Members of HMGS Great Lakes will be hosting American Civil War events at the Hayes Encampment, Oct. 5-6. This is being held at the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center in Fremont, OH. The local Holiday Inn is giving a special room rate of $59 per room (up to four people). Guests should mention "HMGS rate" when making their reservation (419-334-2682).

The Hayes encampment will host several hundred reenactors and guests. The gaming portion of this event will be held in the museum itself. We are calling the gaming portion of this event "Rally 'Round the Flag" and hope to have a half dozen or so events for the weekend. If things go well this year, we hope to hold a full blown ACW convention in conjunction with the encampment next year. Flyers and brochures are available, and will be at Advance the Colors as well.
