Greetings all, this is the first report to the membership of our activities up here in Toledo. Item 1. Drums Along the Maumee is off to a great start. We have filled our game schedule, sold all of the Dealer tables (more than last year!) and started our local ad campaign. The new site, Holiday Inn West, is located in south Toledo, with easy access from the Turnpike and expressway. The hotel is close to a shopping mall, movie theaters, and more restaurants than I can mention. We will have a Dining List at Drums with our recommendations. Our third year is going to be the best yet! Don't miss this opportunity to play some great games! Item 2 It is my understanding that my position in HMGS-GL is to increase awareness of our group and to promote historical gaming. To accomplish this, I have developed close ties with several important local sites. We've worked with Ft. Meigs and plan to run demo games there when the reconstruction project is finished. A free tour of the fort was given to attendees of our first two conventions. Also, we will have an on-going exhibit at the Wolcott House Museum Complex, run by the Maumee Valley Historical Society. This site is the special Sunday Event for Drums this year (see article this issue). These two landmarks draw many many visitors each year. And we will be there. Our displays and brochures will inform the public and hopefully bring in some new members. Item 3 I am here to help you and promote our hobby. Please contact me with anything you feel needs to be addressed -- and thanks for the votes!
