Colby Street Update: "Springtime, and we are -- as usual -- busy. Drums 3 is really in place for this coming May, and we have put in a lot of work for all the members to enjoy. A high point is more GMs, games and dealers than before, and a larger, more useable, site. We have been on the convention circuit early this spring: BashCon in Toledo; WinterCon in Detroit; Battlefields in Westland,Mi; and soon, The Seven Years War Con in South Bend. By the time we get to May and Drums 3, we will have run events at eight or more conventions since last May!

Many new troops have been bought, and the painting will begin soon after the convention rush. Our yearly Journal of our exploits has been printed and dispensed to the Colbys to relive and remember the last 12 months. This will be Issue #18 or so, I think. We also have a tie-in exhibit planned for the new Fallen Timbers/Fort Meigs Resurrection Project, as we speak now. This revamped display will be another great area to recruit potential members.

During the last 12 months, we have had many dealings with the Great Lakes BOD, and think have worked well for our future programs with them. A new understanding has been created that will greatly benefit both ends of the Great Lakes Ohio Territory. To sum up, we have been very busy and are ready for you to come to Drums 3 in May of 2002! We alsoplaced a deposit for Drums 4 in 2003, and inked in the dates and a committment for Drums 5 for 2004! (The above were all done by one "Curly," aka Tim Weber, Colonel Colby - off in the bushes...). -- Jim Thomasson, Colby Street Irregulars."
