Results of Winter Sword was held at the Buckeye Soldier Shop in Grove City on Dec. 12, 2001. Thanks to the shop's staff for hosting and gift Certificates that where awarded for first and second place. The results were as follows:
Thanks to all who participated. You might notice that we now are reporting scores. It now a requirement (request) from NASAMW that we include the scores. Also, NASAMW dues will be collected every September or August. If you are due at a different time of the year, it will be pro-rated. The dues are still $18 at year (we ran a special for $15 for the month of December). Regional Rating System 100 points to first place, 0 points for last, with points distributed evenly in between. Five points per round played, and the points you earned in the tournament. That is a total of 145 points possible for a three round tournament. You have to play in at least two of the tournaments to be rated. If you played in a third tournament, your total points would be multiplied by 1.1, or if you played in all four tournaments by 1.2. This was done to reward those who played more than the minimum number of tournaments. The results were a very close race. A total of 10 players qualified in the RRS, of which five played in all four tournaments and five played in three tournaments. The top player with the highest score is awarded the Hoplite Trophy. The Hoplite Trophy this year was won by yours truly (Rich Hartley). The top three players for the Hoplite Trophy with their scores are as follows:
2) Jeff Fletcher, 135 Pts 3) Ron Holtz, 126 Pts Past winners of the award have been Dave Perry and Steve Phallen.
