The Board of Directors last met Saturday, Aug. 18, at the Bob Evan's Restaurant in Richmond, IN, and discussed the final detail for Advance the Colors. At the meeting, Dealer Coordinator Joe Cairo reported on the number of dealers for ATC. The Board agreed to support the Smethurst Basement guys as they make plans to run War Party 2002 in Cincinnati. It's great to see quality gaming groups like the Colby Street Irregulars and Smethurst Basement step forward and help promote a hobby we all care about. Thanks, guys! Well, by the time you read this, Advance the Colors 2001 is history, and I hope as many of you were able to attend as possible. If you missed it, I know you missed a lot -- I was looking forward to it all year. I'd like to thank everyone who worked towards its success, the volunteers, Joe Cairo and especially David Van Hoose, we're truly lucky to have David on the Board and as Convention Coordinator. And if you attended the Membership Meeting at ATC, you heard the Elections for the Board of Directors is coming up at the end of the year and there will be 7 Members on the Board. Anyone who would like to run for the Board of Directors, please write a short bio and send it to Mike Demana. He'll put it in the next Herald. Hopefully, the membership voted to change the length of the Board terms: Three Board Members would have 3 year terms; Two Board Members would have 2 year terms; And two Board Members would have a 1 year term. After that, all terms would be for 3 years. That way, there would always be board members with experience to help the new ones. The terms would be decided by votes -- the three with the highest vote get 3 years, and so on. More details on where to send the ballots will be in the next Herald.
