Colby Street Update: "Well, we survived the Drums 2 Convention in May that we had worked on for 12 months. Dealers, tables, game masters, etc., normal buzz, but a good show, again. This summer, our Christmas Party at the Pool will be held in August -- whenever it gets so hot that we have nothing else to do. We had gone to MichiCon and run two events at the end of the month. Doug had a new, brillant design for a tactical shootout -- it was well received by the boy's fighting in THE B-B-Q Machine! Jim ran a Cassino Battle, lots of hills and four armies slugging it out. The Italians did better than their German allies but the British Bren and American Thompsons ruled in the close terrain.

Plans are now being prepared for our events at this years ATC this Fall. Tim is working on our Pirate game -- Barataria -- and Jim has microarmor lined up. The Johnsons are preparing another trip to Africa and the crew's are embarking for the return match at Panape! Before that, we are planning on running some events at Glass City Games during their Games of the Summer Program on Aug. 25 -- not sure what, but we shall be there most of the day.

Cannibals are being painted now, along with French Marines, Pirates and new World War II figures from Westwind and Icon. Projects on the Drawing board include the Spanish -American War, a new twist on the Jacobite Rebellion of '45, the much delayed Boxer Rebellion, the Pirates, maybe the Indian Mutiny of 1857 and a new French Foreign Legion Fort. Yeah, we are still busy but having fun blowing each other up each week.

The last great battle? Doug ran his Godzilla Game for the G-Con in Chicago -- it was a great change from our normal encounters. Rhodan, Godzilla, MechaGodzilla -- they were all there, rolling into buildings as we gouged, punched, flamed and stomped on each other and the small scale tanks and planes of the pitiful Japanese Defense Force -- all we were missing was the Movie Music but that will be arriving shortly." -- Colonel Colby - NOT the Townburner of Panape (that's his evil twin!)

Confederation of Friends - This Indiana club specializes in 20mm Napoleonics. The 10 members have armies to represent all combatants of the 1809 time period. Duke Robinson, PO Box 47, Owensville, IN 47665. (812) 729- 7651.
