As we get closer to Advance the Colors, the memories and great times we had at Drums 2 still linger in our minds. During Drums 2, the Board gave Certificates of Appreciation to two great lakes Members. Tim Weber, of the Colby Street Irregulars, received a certificate for the outstanding job he did on Drums 2 --and it showed. Also, Herald Editor Mike Demana, received a certificate for the great job he does on The Herald. Mike devotes many, many hours of his own time to give us a newsletter that makes us all proud. From his hard work, you can see he puts his all into it. Thank you, Tim and Mike, for the hard work you do for Great Lakes. The Board of Directors met Saturday, June 30, in Richmond, IN, and discussed the following issues. We lost someone who was devoted to Great Lakes, through an accident and misunderstanding. Darryl Smith gave up control of the HMGS Web Site and his positions of Dealer Coordinator and Recruiting Coordinator. We're sorry to see Darryl leave us. We will miss Darryl and hopefully will see him at a game soon. We do have a new Web Master. Ed Lizak stepped forward. David van Hoose will be his back-up. Ed is in the process of getting our own Domain name(s). As soon as they're set up work and working, a notice will go out over the Great Lakes e-group. Replacing Darryl Smith as Dealer Coordinator for ATC is Great Lakes Member Joe Cairo. Thanks, Joe, for volunteering. In the last Herald, the Board asked the membership to let us know if they wanted to use Pay Pal. Well, no one responded, so the Board decided not to use Pay Pal. The Board is also checking into some web sites, where we may be able to get free or low cost advertising for ATC. We'll have more as it's available. Board Members Bud Hunter, Andy York and myself will be checking with local newspapers trying to get information in them about ATC. The Board also would like to remind all Great Lakes Members that threats of any kind and foul language over the internet will not be tolerated. If the identity of the person or persons is found out, appropriate action will be taken by the Board. The meeting was then adjourned. I would also like to remind the Membership that Warparty! in Cincinnati will be take place July 28 at the Knights of St. John Hall on Jefferson St. It's just off the North Cincinnati Lockland exit of I-75. I hope to see you there. Back to The Herald 42 Table of Contents Back to The Herald List of Issues Back to MagWeb Master Magazine List © Copyright 2001 by HMGS-GL.
