On September 14-16, 2001, we will be hosting Advance the Colors 2001 in Springfield, OH, at the Holiday Inn, 383 E. Leffel Lane. As Convention Director, I am calling for volunteers to take on convention staff positions so that we can all ensure a safe and enjoyable event. If you are interested in assisting your chapter, please take one step forward. Do not worry about not having done this in the past, we will teach you everything you need to know. All volunteers need to either write or em-ail a short note with the position they are interested in filling, to: David K. van Hoose davidkvh@aol.com Dealer Coordinator (POSITION FILLED) Joe Cairo is the Dealer Coordinator for ATC 2001. Joe has the job of lining up vendors for the convention (i.e., sending out letters, answering questions, and collecting funds for the tables). Sending the Convention Director a weekly status report; and coming up with the layout of the dealer tables at the convention site. During the convention time, he and Chris von Fahnestock will be on site as the vendors arrive, directing them to their table(s), getting them checked in and distributing vendor passes. After the convention, Joe will send out thank you notes to the vendors present at the convention. Then, he will assist the Convention Director with plans for the next convention. The following positions need to be filledOn Site Event Coordinator (5 volunteers needed) We need five On Site Event Coordinators (i.e. Friday evening; Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon, Saturday evening, and Sunday). The duties of the event coordinator are: Assist the Game Masters in finding their table, Make sure the events get started on time, Make sure that the Game Master cleans up the table on time, Ensure each game master gets a Game Master Packet, Answer questions concerning upcoming events, and Help the game master fill up their games by directing ATC guests to open games. Front Desk Manager (three volunteers needed) We need three Front Desk Managers (i.e. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). The duties of the Front Desk Manager are to find volunteers to man the desk while it is open, ensure the desk opens on time and closes on time. Each Front Desk Manager will need to put together their own staff for the day they volunteer for and determine the schedule for the volunteers. Their staff needs to include at least four people during the peak hours and at least two people during all other hours. I will work with the Front Desk Managers on their schedules to ensure we have coverage all the times needed. If you are interested in Volunteering, please send me an email at the above address.
