Students of Ohio State University's Newark regional campus will be holding our second annual gaming convention, NerKon II, Feb. 16-18. Last year's con started as a project for "Students in Free Enterprise," but we had so much fun that we decided to make it a business, and do it every year. This year, NerKon grows from one to three days. We even have the star of 2001 Space Odyssy, Gary Lockwood, coming. The convention is designed to cater to all areas of miniature gaming, from historical to sci-fi/fantasy. I am writing this article for two reasons: First to give all of you a "heads-up" if you are in the Ohio region; Also to seek miniature companies and wargame distributers to support NerKon II with prize packages, etc. Some of the historical miniatures events we have planned, include: DBA Ancients (battles and a tournament Command Decision World War II, BattleGround World War II, Piquet Napoleonics, and Piquet American Civil War. Admission is $5 dollars for one day, $10 for all three. Members of HMGS, Society of Military Gamers, Central Ohio Garners Association and OSU students get $1 off. Proceeds go to the Non-Traditional Students Organization to fund their annual events, such as Give a Gift to a Child, Blood and Food Drives, and Adopt the Elderly Day.
