Here are the results of the HMGS Great Lakes Board Meeting held Dec. 15, 2000:

1. The Magweb.com issue passes with the proviso that The Herald is held back one month for the web issue, and the Board authorizes Mike Demana to make what arrangements are necessary for HMGS Great Lakes to participate with Magweb.com.

2. The Board of Directors of the Great Lakes Chapter of HMGS wishes to make the following statement concerning Alternative gaming:

"We waited on addressing this issue until the results of Brain O'Leary's survey were published in The Herald. Considering the lack of response from the Membership, and since none of the members of the Great Lakes Chapter, HMGS, have contacted any Board Members either pro or con, it is the Board's feeling that our conventions will continue to accept historical games first. lf we are unable to fill available time slots with historical games, then the Convention Director will schedule Alternative Games as he feels necessary to fill those time slots. This closes the 'Alt. Gaming' issue.

3. At Advance the Colors 2000 it was proposed and passed by the membership that a second person be able to write checks on the HMGS Great Lakes checking account, in case the Treasurer is unavailable and a check is needed immediately. That person is me. I now have some checks in my possession and my name is on the checking account.

4. In case it wasn't mentioned before, prior to the holidays, the Board voted to increase dues for Great Lakes membership to $12 a year, since it has been at $10 for quite some time.

Finally, the Board of Directors would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and remind everyone that the e-mail addresses of the Board Members are in The Herald. Please feel free to contact us with any concerns or issues.
