Expansion Rules for HMGS-GL

Version 1.0

by Doug Johnson

Our gaming organization is like other groups in many common ways. They need member support in order to have the money to keep running. The group sponsors special events for its members, in our case, gaming conventions. Members of any club must share not only the fun of belonging but also the responsibility of continued prosperity.

At Advance the Colors this year, we were again provided with a variety of great games and enough dealer tables to keep even my brothers happy. All of this effort does not happen overnight. It is only through the hard work of volunteers that these conventions are held.

Do I have a point to this rambling? Yes, I do. We can all help HMGS Great Lakes by recruiting new members and promoting the hobby whenever possible. Our chapter has done well by increasing its membership and adding other conventions to the schedule. Drums Along the Maumee, held in Toledo last May, proved that we can expand our gaming conventions to new areas and add new members as well.

I would like to challenge all of you to bring just one more person into the HMGS Great Lakes family. It is a family because we all share an interest in history and gaming. Together we can improve the hobby and secure the future of our Great Lakes chapter.
