Colby Street Update: "The Colby's are preparing their games and help for Advance the Colors. We will be running three events and maybe fielding up to seven Colby's in attendence. We had our Christmas Party in August -- 10 stalwarts survived Jim's grillwork and the chilly weather. Afterwards, we all went to Ft. Meigs for a French and Indian War battle. More than 350 troops were on the field -- Rangers, French and British Regulars, Colonists and a bunch of local Indians. Artillery was fired and Cavalry rode up and down -- jolly good time! Our current projects involve The Johnson's African Game, Jim's expanded French Foreign Legion Game (tried it as a demo at Glass city Games -- so-so -- so, we reload and try again) and Tim is working on the Pirates. Two members were sick lately, one got a new job and School began for The Colonel. Jim's vacation to Toronto may gain the chapter a new store for the network -- Crossed Swords in western Toronto suburbs. Drums - 2 is moving along, the Board has filed the paperwork and paid the first fees. We plan to contact Dealers and GMs at ATC to get things into high gear. The Database for Great Lakes has not turned out much info -- 120members and only 10 submissions. Oh well, try later when it's cold and no one can go out to play!" -- Jim Thomasson

Conflict Simulations Club Update: "Recent and up coming events include: Day One of the Battle of Pisae, a Might of Arms battle generated from our ancients campaign. The bulk of the Roman legions faced off against the combined might of the Carthaginians and Gauls. The first day was a standoff, with very few casualties. Day Two (some time soon) will hopefully decide the matter. The DBA tournament on Sept. 3 went well, with eight participants 'duking it out' over four rounds. Therron Thomas was the overall winner, victorious in all 4 of his battles. Sept. 10 saw a return of Jim Morrison's great looking 'Battleground Vietnam.' The U.S. rescue mission didn't go quite as planned. Sept. 17th will be a Command Decision game: 'East Front, June of '41.' If you haven't seen the T-26 in action, here's your chance!" -- Mike Brewington
