I would like to thank everyone who attended Advance the Colors 2000. I think everyone there had a good time. One person who we owe a big thank you to is our vice president and convention director, David Van Hoose. He did an outstanding job. I know a lot of this will be repeated in other reports, but I'd like to throw in my two cents. Thanks to everyone who gave of their time to help, especially Jim Robinson and his staff for the silent auction, Jeff Chattin and his son for working all weekend at the registration table, Andy York and John Leahy for the restaurant coupons and menus to go with the ones that I got. Our snacks weren't as profitable as planned, since we really weren't supposed to sell them in the convention center. Thanks to my bootlegging skills and the many members who traveled to my car with me, we made approximately $70 by the time I left Sunday morning. The breakfast meeting between the Board and the Colby Street Irregulars went well. We got to know each other and talked over the faux pax with the Drums Along the Maumee II deposit. The membership meeting was interesting and I hope that members contact the Board of Directors with more ideas for money raising projects. During the meeting, Darryl Smith accepted the position of Recruitment Coordinator. Darryl needs volunteers from our membership who can help in their areas to get more members. Also, certificates of appreciation were given to the past Board of Directors -- Ray Garbee, Matt Davidson, Scott Savory, and Darryl Smith. It was a small token, but we wanted to let these guys know that we appreciated everything that they did. And to avoid any problems with getting checks to the proper parties, should the Treasurer not be available, yours truly accepted the position of Assistant Treasurer.
