by Jack Shaw

At this time, two HMGS Great Lakes Offices have been filled on an interim basis by two members of the new Board of Directors. Joe Fox is interim Treasurer and Andy York is interim Secretary. The remaining office (President) should be filled shortly. If anyone is interested in assisting the Board by filling one of these offices, please contact Andy York,10518 Brookview Dr., Carmel, IN 46032. (317) 581 8840, or e-mail: hobbes87@mindspring.com. According to the by-laws, the offices can be filled by any member (it does not have to be a Board member). The Board members will select a Chairman of the Board.

For the really good news, a location has been found for Advance the Colors 2000. ATC 2000 will be held at the Sharonville Convention Center located just off I-75 in Sharonville, OH, on Sept. 8-10. We will have a total area of 9,600 square feet for plenty of gaming and dealer booths. There are numerous hotels and restaurants in the area, as well as a Walmart and Mall. There are also quite a few "watering holes." More information should be available soon. A "Laurel and Hardy" hardshake goes to Ray Garbee for the hard work that he's done finding this new and exciting location (has anyone seen Blazing Saddles?). Darryl Smith has graciously agreed to work with the dealers again this year. Thanks, Darryl. David Van Hoose has volunteered to be event coordinator. Thanks, David.

As in years past, the Board has always asked for volunteers to man the registration table for the 3 days of the convention. Friday is the busiest, of course. Any member who would like to help out a couple of hours any day, please contact David Van Hoose or Andy York. We need your help.

We are a new Board. I know we're a little slow getting started, but hopefully we will be up to speed soon. Thank you for your patience and for the work that everyone has done in assisting us find a location for ATC. It is appreciated.

On behalf of the new Board of Directors (Tom Bryant, Joe Fox, Jack Shaw, David Van Hoose, and Andy York), we hope to see you at Drums Along the Maumee and Advance the Colors 2000.
