Here is a list of some of the gaming groups in the Great Lakes area. If you would like your club listed, send the particulars (days you meet, types of gaming, your group name and contact point) to The Herald.

Allegheny Irregulars Update: "The only game that we have planned for March/April right now is an 1813 Napoleonic game using Napoleon's Battles. The date for the game isn't set, but it will definitely be a Sunday." -- Tom Semian

Ann Arbor Area Historical Miniatures Gamers Group - This group of 15+ gamers is composed mostly of faculty, administration, and students of the University of Michigan. They meet every Thursday evening at a member's house, and also try to squeeze in Sunday games every couple months. Their schedule for the first half of 2000 includes DBA Ancients, DBR Renaissance, Victorian Era colonials, WW II, Western Gunfights, and even Hordes of the Things fantasy! They are always looking for new gamers. Games are played in Saline, MI, about 1 hour north of Ohio Border, west of Detroit, east of BattleCreek and south of Flint. Central Ohio Gamers Association (COGA) - Meet 10am - 11 pm on the 2nd Saturday of each month at the Whitehall Public Library. They host a variety of historical miniatures and boardgames. Dave Barr, 2961 Deep Wood Dr., Reynoldsburg, OH 43068-4015. (614) 864-2044.

Colby Street Irregulars - This group has been meeting for more than16 years on Wednesdays, 7-11pm, in the Toledo area. April 19 Jim will demo the World War II version of our Terran Wars game system at Glass City Games in Toledo.

Colby Street Update: "The Colbys have been very busy at the start of Spring. Planning for the 'Drums along the Maumee' Convention in Toledo is going fine. Plan to attend -- May 19,20, 2000 at the Clarion Hotel in Toledo. Lately, we have been playing 25mm French and Indians, Micro Armor in the World War II era, and our 1870s gunfighter game in 28mm. We hope to plan a cleanup day for the local Ft. Meigs grounds with the aid of students from Libbey High School. The fort is a free tour site for all Drums convention attendees. With the help from our two local hobby shops, it appears that drums will be a positive effort by HMGS Great Lakes and the Colby Street Irregulars. Thanks to all the help from Darryl Smith, Dayton's Great Lakes members, Mind Games, Glass City -- and to all the Gamemasters that have signed on for our Con already !" -- Jim Thomasson

Gargolye Gamers Group - G3 supports ALL gaming in the area to include historical and non-historical miniatures, card, role playing and board gaming. Gargolye Gamers Group update: "G3 is having a one-day convention March 18 at one of the member's homes. 'HomeCon 1' features a Bablyon5 miniatures game, DragonStormSpecial, Empire Builder, and I am doing a15mm World War II game, 'Yugoslavia '45 - LIBERATION.' Other cons include Nova 25, March 25-26 at Oakland University. Michicon is coming up in June.
Sterling Heights Gamers is also runing ACW miniatures (I see a 1:1 scale ACW event or two) and we had a World War II miniatures aircraft game a week ago. We also do World War II naval and armor, Modern armor, and I saw some Colonial-type troops in Bruce Miller's basement being painted." -- Mike Reese

Historical Gamers of Indianapolis (or 19 Plus 1) - Meets every tuesday for historical games. The address is 2060 E. 54th Street, Village Commons, Suite 4, Indianapolis, IN 46220. New guests are welcome ($3 game fee). They play different historical games each week. Tuesday games run 6:30 - 11pm, Saturday 10am - 5pm. The Minatures and Gaming Association at The Ohio State University - This group has been meeting for years, playing a mix of historical and fantasy, on the campus of OSU. They meet every Saturday (except "breaks" and summers) in the basement meeting rooms in the Ohio Union from noon till 11pm. There is no charge and multiple games are played. All guests are welcome. North Coast Update: "During the past couple of months, parts of the informal gaming group played a 15mm recreation of the American Revolution battle of Concord (this time a smashing British victory), as well as a public 25mm French & Indian War game hosted by Doug Rogers at a local gaming store. Doug and Scott visited a group of gamers in extreme NE Ohio for an 11th century battle using "WarCry" house rules. Upcoming games include a Plains Indians 15mm Washita game in April." -- Scott Mingus

Rochester Historical Simulations Group - This group meets at 11:30 on the 3rd Sunday of the month at Millennium Books and Games in Rochester.
