Great Lakes member Guy Flora, who doubles as director for the venerable Spring Columbus convention, Capcon, e-mailed me with a request. He'd like me to beat the drums for volunteers to run events. Normally, I publicize a list of historical miniature events to be run at Capcon, but its later date this year (April 28-30), means most GMs haven't gotten around to sending in their events to Guy, yet. And, uh, that includes myself! I will be running something there (possibly my Culloden Jacobite rebellion game?). Guy has heard rumors that some card companies purposely schedule events opposite area conventions to lure away potential attendees. He fears Capcon may lose out on "100 warm bodies," and would love to fill their place with historical gamers. If you'd like to help Guy, contact him at 3818 Sunbury Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43219. (614) 471-9812, or e-mail: flora.1@osu.edu. He will need the following information from GMs:
Type of event - role-playing, board game, miniatures, or other. Name of event, rules used, what players should bring. Number of players desired and level of knowledge for players. Type and size of space require, times and durations of games. Any other information that you think will be helpful to us. And remember, admission for GMs that run events for six or more players is refunded on the day of the event!
