I'd like to wish all of my fellow Great Lakes members a happy and prosperous 2000! As usual, the holidays are a quiet time for the chapter, and this month's reporting period is no exception. This treasury report does, however, mark the official conclusion of my two terms on the Great Lakes Board of Directors. The four years that I've spent serving as your Treasurer have been a very rewarding time, and I look back with deep satisfaction at how our chapter has grown. I've made a lot of great friends as a result of my association with Great Lakes, particularly as a result of working with Advance the Colors these past four years. But, alas, I no longer have as much time to devote to my hobby as I once did, and so I have reluctantly decided not to run for a third term. I'd like to say a special thanks to my fellow Board members Darryl Smith, Matt Davidson and Ray Garbee, who were my friends and gaming buddies long before HMGS Great Lakes ever existed; to Brian O'Leary, who bravely started publishing The Herald on his own initiative several years ago; and to Mike Demana, who took over editorship of The Herald, and who has done such an outstanding job in putting together the publication it is today. It's been great working with you guys, and I think the chapter owes all of you a salute. I'll still be around, working with the new Board to ensure a smooth transition of the chapter's account to the new treasurer, and I'll continue to play and run games, and send Mike the occasional article for The Herald. To all of my friends, I say, "I'll be seeing you around! Good gaming!" Summary of Treasury Activity
