Advance The Colors was not only a success as a gaming convention, but also as a recruiting tool to add new members to our ranks as well. This year, 27 gamers added their names to the Great Lakes membership rolls -- swelling our ranks to over 250 members! It is also worth mentioning that, of these twenty-seven, many of them are from outside of Ohio, giving Great Lakes more of a regional composition. A regional breakdown is as follows:
Indiana - 7 Michigan - 3 Kentucky - 2 Illinois - 1 We also had more than 50 renewals at the show, giving the board confidence that membership in Great Lakes is something that the members are enjoying. We want to keep striving to be the best chapter in HMGS by offering as much as we can for our members. We hope to see this continued growth in membership over the next year. Thanks to all of you who have made yourself a part of one of the fastest-growing HMGS chapters. Elections coming up for GL board If you think you might be interested in joining the Great Lakes board of directors, now is the time to decide. Election time is coming up and all candidates for the board must submit their names to Great Lakes chairman Ray Garbee. His contact information appears on the inside front cover of this issue. Also, candidates are urged to submit a short bio or "platform" to The Herald. These will be run in the November/December issue. Please keep them as breif as necessary - - I'm sure most members won't want to read 40 pages of bios in lieu of articles on gaming! (Of course, that is your editor speaking -- not the current board!). Terms are for two years.
