Lineup of 'HOT' Games Sizzles

by Mike Demana

When the sun beats down on the Columbus Convention Center this summer, the gaming inside is going to be hot! HOT as in HMGS Origins Team, that is. For the third year, members from various HMGS chapters, including Great Lakes, are staging historical miniatures events at this multi-genre convention. The main purpose is to recruit 'alternative gamers!' into historical ones (part of that old HMGS mantra of "promoting historical miniatures").

Some of the 100+ historical events scheduled so far, include:

David Doty/Rich Masse's massive, SYW "The Battle of Zorndorf"
Gavin Tovrea's Age of Sail "Trafalgar" and "Hogland"
Dennis Lockhart's WWII Battleground scenario, "The Bridge"
Brad Ruppel's Volley & Bayonet "Battle of Friedland, 1807"
Jon Mollison's WWII Skirmish "Assault on the Tractor Factory"
John Pittenger's modern skirmish "Hunting Bonnie & Clyde"
Terry Hollern & the Editor's "Battles from History" DBA Tourney
Pete Panzeri's show-stealing, spectacular "Alamo"
