Here are the listings for the only Civil War reenacting in this region that I know of through the end of December:

All Civil War reenactors are invited. Parade starts at 1 prn at Gettysburg Recreation Field. National Civil War Ball at 9 pm will be held at Eisenhower Inn, 2634 Emmitsburg Rd. Price $10 (make checks out to National Civil War Ball). Profits go to Civil War Monuments Preservations. For tickets or parade registration forms, contact Col. Bud Atkinson, 1016 Gorman St., Philadelphia, PA 19116-3719, or e-mail: BudOmSonsgaol.com.

Dec. 12-13: Soldiers Christmas Encampment. Columbus, OH. The Ohio Village, an 1860s recreated town, will be hosting its 3rd Annual Christmas encampment and promises to be one of the largest Civil War Christmas events in the country. This two-day event will focus on the holiday during the war. It will feature military drill, pay call, soldiers' games, an evening bonfire, and a dress ball. Included both days will be "living history," Civil War photographers, period music, caroling and St. Nicholas visiting the troops. A soldiers refreshment saloon will be serving food and drink to reenactors. The Ohio Village is located at 1-71 and 17th Ave., adjacent to the Ohio Historical Center. Contact Rick Musselman (614) 297-2275 or Julia Evans (614) 297-2675.
