by Pete Panzeri
Pete Panzeri zipped off some numbers to The Herald as a quickie "After Action Report" from the HMGS presence at Origins'98 in Columbus this summer. According to Pete: HMGS Origins'98 registration records and survey results show: 144 historical miniatures games listed (up from 110 in '97). 315 historical gamers (up from 160 in '97). 42 registered as a "Boardgamer" in one or more historical miniatures game. 12 registered a s"War College" in one or more historical miniatures game. 120 in alternative gamer categories in one or more historical miniatures game. All the above numbers may be higher, as I did not collect post- event totals from Andon, who began work for other Con's soon after Origins, while I went to Historicon. No more than 50 HMGS members were present (you do the math folks). That's lots of potential recruits.
