You'll notice a nice handful of advertisements as you look through this issue. When I expanded The Herald a couple issues back, I had promised the board that advertising would at least pay for the additional costs. I'll admit that I was a little worried last issue when only one advertiser stepped forward. I attributed it to my late start canvassing potential advertisers, and thankfully, this issue proved that correct. The ads in this particular issue brought in $350 worth of revenue into the treasury. Granted, some of them are annual ads, so must be "prorated" over the course of the year to analyze how much per issue they contribute. I figure that out to be $81.66 for this issue's printing costs. Last issue's Herald cost about $100 to print -- so you can see the ads are helping make Great Lakes more financially healthy. We don't have the deep pockets that chapters like HMGS East have (yet), so this revenue is important. So, if you think of it, show your copy of The Herald to a game store, figure manufacturer, painting service, etc., and see if they're interested in taking out an ad. And of course, if you're in the market for some of the products our advertisers carry, I encourage you to buy from them. By all means, mention you saw their ad in The Herald.
