For a great method of doing mud, stucco, plaster, etc., try Duncan "Snow Accents." This comes in a 4 oz. bottle and should be available at general hobby chains like Michaels. Snow Accent is a thick, white "putty-like" substance. It mixes well with acrylic paints and can be painted easily, too. I usually mix a little of it with paint, then daub it onto the vehicle needing coverage. You can also daub this onto a building or piece of terrain, then paint over it for a plaster or stucco effect.
