Thoughts from the Oval Office

ATC and Logo

by Matt Davidson

Time is moving right along. We held another BoD meeting in February, and we accomplished much. Here are a few of the topics covered. Work is proceeding with Advance the Colors 98 and we have a new Convention Coordinator, Ray Garbee. Brian O'Leary is once more the Event Coordinator and Ferkin Doyle the Dealer Coordinator. Ray has a detailed plan of attack already, and Advance the Colors 98 should be our best yet.

We also adopted an official HMGS-GL Logo. It is an anchor inside of a circle, which is itself inside of another circle, which bears the name HMGS Great Lakes. It seems to work well with our chapter name, and is at the same time a fairly simple design. We signed on a new Friend of Great Lakes, Games Galore, in Cincinnnati.

Capcon in April is shaping up nicely with a bunch of historical miniature events scheduled to be run. I hope to see a good turn out by the membership as well. Origins is still looming on the horizon, and if you haven't registered with HOT 98 to run an event or work the desk, I would urge you to consider doing so soon. It was great to see and talk to some of the HMGS-GL membership at Cold Wars. I believe we were pretty well represented there this time. I hope to see you all at Capcon. Let's make a good showing to promote Historical Miniature Gaming!
