Thanks

Having attended Origins '97, I just wanted to say thanks to all those HMGS-Great Lakes members who supported historical miniatures gaming at Origins. Special thanks for Captain Pete Panzeri and Chris Von Fahnestock, who I understand coordinated the HMGS activities with the Andon folks. The HMGS booth was great, and I believe that Great Lakes recruited several new members as a result of the exposure. Also, a hearty thanks to all those who ran historical games at the show. I heard many favorable comments from the attendees; I spoke with some Ohio historical gamers who didn't even know that HMGS-Great Lakes existed until they saw the booth! The exposure which a show like Origins can give to HMGS provides us with a great oppertunity to promote the hobby and expand our membership base. I think that those who attended Origins last year as well would agree that this year's show was a tremendous improvement! Now that Andon has announced that Origins will be held in Columbus for the next several years, I would like to see the involvement of the HMGS membership continue. Again, thanks to all those who supported historical miniatures gaming at Origins `97
