Advance the Colors `97

Update

by Brian O'Leary

Despite the bazaar challenge presented by the sale of the old convention site (see inside cover for new site info), Advance the Colors `97 is moving along smoothly.

The dealer room has been filled with The Colour Sergeant, Dayton Painting Consortium, Homefront Hobbies, Modelers Mart, The Nafziger Collection, 19th Century Miniatures, Outland Games, Sidney Hobby Shop, and The Soldiery (hope I didn't miss anyone).

The event schedule is rapidly filling up with greater variety than last year; There are fewer WWII events and many more ACW events this year. Several of the GMs have sent photos of the events that they wish to run and let me says that there is going to be some great looking stuff at the convention. The following will give you some idea of what is in store:

Friday Oct. 3 WWII Africa WWII Western Front ACW Naval French and Indian War W W I Air Combat

Saturday Oct. 4 ACW (multiple games morning and night) WWII Eastern Front WWII France 1940 WWII Western Front AWL French and Indian Spanish American War WWI Air Combat DBA

Sunday Oct.5 Spanish American War Colonials-Zulu AWI WWII Eastern Front WWII Western Front ACW

I'm still receiving about one new event each day, so this list is already out of date. If you are considering running a game, Friday night could use a couple of events and Saturday evening is thinner than Saturday morning.

The new site is easier to access from the freeway, and is cleaner, newer, nicer, has easier access to food, three times the parking, and the rooms are cheaper (Yea!). You should go, hope to see you there.
