I have a doctor figure from Rafm's 25mm Civil War line and have seen Investigator style figures that would make good Doctors. These figures got me thinking about adding doctoring rules (Bandaging and Surgery) to Desperado. I ran my ideas by Tom Kelly at Cold Wars '96, and he said they sounded good, so here they are. Bandaging Bandaging consists of putting alcohol on and wrapping the wound, and would restore up to +5 Body Points. You can bandage once per wound. The person doing the bandaging may start with the patient and then move away, or he may move to the patient and then bandage. No run-by bandaging. Surgery Surgery consists of removing bullets or buckshot, setting bones, or cleaning up the mess. The good Doctor must start with and stay with the patient. To perform surgery the doctor must a number higher than the amount of damage done by the wound on percentile dice. Success on this roll stops bad wounds from bleeding and restores up to =10 Body Points. Your patient is still effected by the wound i.e., crawl only no running, immobile, etc. Rolling the amount of damage or less is a failure that results in -10 Body Points of damage and that causes the wound to start bleeding if it is not. You are allowed one successful role per wound. Back to The Herald 11 Table of Contents Back to The Herald List of Issues Back to MagWeb Master Magazine List © Copyright 1996 by HMGS-GL.
