58) Breaker Morant, 1979 (C-107 minutes). The true story of three soldiers court martialed to further the ends of the British Empire during the Boer War.

59) Gallipoli, 1981 (C-110 minutes). WWI battle, great period detail.

60) The Light Horsemen, 1987 (C-US 111, Australian 128 minutes). The Australian Lighthorse Brigade and their involvement in a disasterious desert campaign during WWI. Charge at Beersheba is outstanding.

61) The Sand Pebbles, 1966 (C-179 minutes). US gunboat cruising China's Yangtze River in 1926.

62) The Wind and The Lion, 1975 (C-119 minutes). Mostly true incident involving Morroccan sheik at 1900 re-written for Hollywood.

66) Sanders of the River, 1935 (B/W-98 minutes). Relic of the sun-never-sets school of British imperialism.

67) Another Dawn, 1937 (B/W-73 minutes). Adventure story set at British post in African desert.

I'm sure that there are more movies set in the 'colonial period'. If you have any additions please send them along for inclusion.
