Also received from Sharron at the London War Room are four bags of their Fighting Men of India (28mm) from the Off The Beaten Path line. The Fighting Men of India includes six bags ($15 each) of ten figures each. The four bags received includes: FMI 1 Peasant Levy with assorted hand weapons and shields, advancing (26-27mm sole to eyes), 6 poses, 4 in caps, 6 in turbans, bare chested, in dhoti, some open and some closed hands but with holes, thin handles on the ax and pick, 3 different shields, and 2 different swords. Some flash on a couple of figs, nicely posed and repose able arms. The picks are pretty cool and you could use them to restage the thuggee/Kali revolt from the Gunga Din movie. FMI 4 Maharatha Hindu Infantry with spears and shields, advancing (26-28mm sole to eyes), 7 poses 2 with knife in hand, each pose is in different clothing, 2 styles of tuban, hands will need to be drilled out o accept spears, spears will have to be cleaned of flash. FMI 5 Bairagis, Nairs, Nagas, Armed Hindu Yogis (24-26mm sole to eyes), 5 poses 1 with loin cloth others dhoti, 1 with pistol in belt, 2 with knife in hand, weapons as FMI 1 but with 2 matchlocks 3 shields, all are carrying multiple weapons. I like these figures the best, and plan to make a secret society unit or more of thuggee from this and FMI 1, probably means more unpainted lead for a while. FMI 6 Muslim Matchlock Men (Najibs) (26-27mm sole to eyes), 5 poses, 2 shooting, 1 ramming, 1 biting cartridge, 1 with powder, 2 turban types and a variety of costume. Little flash. Nice variety of poses. These figures will fit in with other 28mm Indian figs from Bicorne, Britannia, Dixon, Eureka, Foundry, Hinchcliffe, Historifigs, and Old Glory. I like these figs and they will add some welcome variety to just gaming Indian campaigns on the Northwest Frontier. I can see my Indian patrol out to fix the telegraph line attacked by these thuggees (even if they are not advertised that way they will be made to join that secret society). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED On the bottom of the page with the Fighting Men of India is a resin casting from The London War Room. BK 1 Barricade, made from boxes, barrels, and bags ($5.25). Well-designed, nice wood graining, 5.5 by ¾ inch, bags look very realistic, actually it all looks very nice and will work well with Studio 33 (The Virtual Armchair General) boxes. A 28mm standing firing figure fig can fire over this barricade.
