This is getting to be a very familiar review for Castaway Arts.

The typically excellent camels are in three poses from left to right C13, C14, and C12. Each saddle has its cross bar and each blanket is differently decorated with fringe and various components. From left to right the horses are HO10, HO12, and HO11; while the saddle itself is the same on each the blankets are different in design.

The riders from left to right are NA2 (camel), NA4 (horse), NA3 (camel), NA6 (horse), NA5 (horse), NA1 (camel). Riders NA4 and NA6 are holding a sword and a rifle, respectively, while the other riders need to have their weapons glued in place. The choice of weapon being either a spear or rifle. Do not cut off the triangular bit on the end of the spear as it is actually supposed to be there. The riders all measure 25mm from foot to eye, but don’t be fooled they are still 28mm figs as they are not standing straight.

As we have become accustomed to from Castaway Arts the detail, sculpting, and poses are all excellent. The rapidity with which Gerry is expanding his colonial lines is to be congratulated especially for the excellence of his product.

In addition to these North Africans the FFL line has added FL11 a Legion Trumpeter. More North Africans and FFL are being designed and this should be quite a very nice line before the end of the year if not sooner. I really look forward to local levies and uniformed African troops for the FFL.

Perhaps a sword for the hand of NA5 would be a useful addition, as would a cantering or galloping horse. As usual these figures are
