Review by Richard Brooks
10 Woorayl St. Carnegie, Vic. 3163 Australia At Historicon I ordered the Sikh (EU-100COL09) Pioneers and the Pubjab (EU100COL10) Sappers and Pioneers. Each comes in five variants one with shovel and four with rifle and each figure comes with a separate shovel/pick on a sprue. The Figures fit into a metal slot base that unfortunately is too big so I used plastic bases but that is a small price to pay for some great figures that no one else offers. I would have preferred another man or two with pick or shovel but what the heck. After all the three SGTs in Gunga Din were Engineer SGTs and most of their men guarded the few men working. These five figures (from either pack) with an officer or NCO commanding make a nice engineering section. The figures are kitted out with two ammo pouches, canteen, haversack and bayonet. The detail on the equipment straps is carved into the figure rather than raised. The figures range from 26mm from bottom of foot to eye to 28mm, most being 26 to 27mm. Overall the detail is still very nice and the pioneer units a very welcome addition to any expedition. As a bonus sample Nic sent 100SCI12 a SciFi Egyptian wearing a wadjet head, this comes in three variants. OK, so this isn’t exactly colonial for earth but it is such a nice figure I thought I’d show it. The figure measures 30mm from base of foot to eye. By the way the design is from Stargate so it fits very nicely with my finished stargate. Now if I could just get through that four-inch gate I’m outta here. High Recommended
