Castaway Arts
28mm French Foreign Legion

Figure Review

by Richard Brooks

Castaway Arts’ new French Foreign Legion figures are now available. As of this writing there are eight foot, two mounted infantry and two mules. I guess the best way to put this is WOW!!!!. Yeah, Yeah I know I write that a lot. But for 28mm figures there are no better that I am aware of, Old Glory and Redoubt being the others. The Old Glory sculpting is not that great and the Redoubt’s are just too tall.

The sculpting is tremendous, fantastic and very crisp detail, the animation is very good, although I am not so sure of FL7, my least favorite figure, even though I like everyone of them. The packs and uniforms are accurate for the 1897 to 1908 and later period. The rifle is very obviously bolt action Lebel or Gras. Typically, the prices are quite reasonable at 2.50 for figures and 4.15 for the outstanding Missouri mules. By the way that’s Australian Dollars not USD, so they are very affordable.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

D*&n Gerry every time I think I can relax your grip on my wallet there you go dragging it away from me because I perceive the need, the need for MORE LEAD. And you have more Egyptian stuff coming, h%ll I just send you my paycheck. Just kidding.
