Figure Review

by Richard Brooks

Mark has gotten back into the Darkest Africa figures with four new packs.

AF22 Big Game Hunters, five figures:

  • Wearing helmet, kneeling firing a Martini-Henry?, sleeves rolled up, pistol.
  • Advancing with Express?, large knife and pistol
  • Wearing Deer Stalker, chubby old guy with large bore rifle in ascot, vest and jacket. Looks like he’s posing for photograph.
  • Wearing broad brim hat, large bore rifle, knife, advancing.
  • In helmet, wearing glasses carrying double barrel shotgun.

AF23 German Officers

  • Wearing plain helmet, with pistol, advancing, hand up halting column.
  • Wearing helmet with eagle, advancing, hand on pistol, yelling commands.
  • Wearing plain helmet hand in pocket with walking stick.
  • Wearing fez, glasses, bearded, with walking stick.
  • Wearing cap with bill, firing pistol.

AFU1 German Marines, ten figures unit builder, with bolt-action rifles, fixed bayonets, advancing, with at least six different heads, wearing helmet with eagle.

AFU2 D.O.A.G. Askaries, ten figures unit builder, early period, nine wearing fez, one in turban, large collar jumper, variety of pants, three firing, seven advancing-six different heads.

Limited Edition Chokwe Elephant Hunter, advancing, wearing arm and leg bands/jewelry, necklace, carries flintlock and powder gourd.

Overall, I am very impressed with the latest edition of Return to Darkest Africa.

Highly Recommended!
