Volley Fire

Rule Variations

by Ron Lizorty

A.Dervish charging into melee (on initial charge(s) only)-- will accept volley fire from Sudanese as usual, but not until Fuzzy-Wuzzy rolls for throwing mimosa sticks & rocks into faces of soldiers. Roll a D6: Ntmber that comes up is deducted from hits rolled by volley line.

B.Fuzzy-Wuzzy gets a bonus of plus 2 on initial melee round and always wins ties on all melee rounds,

C.When volley is fired at Dervish at point blank range, roll a D6. If a 5 or 6 comes up, charge swerves. Roll a D6 again

    1,2,3: swerves to Dervish left;
    4,5,6: swerves to Dervish right.

Should a 1 come up on first throw of D6 (when determining if charge swerves) charge goes to ground, crouching behind shields until next turn when it's assumed that R leader has rallied his fellow tribesmen to bloody their weapons on the turks!
