The Heliograph's Guide to German Colonial Military Uniforms: Africa is available from me for $16. The Operations booklet will hopefully be done by 1 January and may have to be split into two volumes, more later.

I keep promising myself to get beyond priming and base coating some of my figures, I think I'm so far behind I'll never see daylight. But happily I keep collecting figures oblivious to the need to paint them to perfection or even badly.

My collection of colonial era books also keeps expanding, just like our waistlines but never mind that, each seem to worth their weight in something or other because gold is too expensive. The books I got from Articles of War, amazon.com.uk, and Barnes and Noble shopping trips are worthwhile to keep the interest up from Burton's Wanderings in West Africa to Ian Knight's books (too numerous to list, how do you do it Ian without repeating yourself, just amazing) to Adwa in Italian.

It continues to amaze me that the Heliograph has stayed in the top ten magazines on magweb for nearly a year and a half. Although it has slipped slightly in the last quarter from number five to ten with the Courier taking first place. I greatly appreciate the writing talents of our contributors. Percentage wise we have more contributing writers than everything but MWAN. You'se guys should be real proud of yourselves, I am. We continue to have a new set of rules or variants every issue, now if we could just get Larry Brom to pen an article for us that would be great.

There are several flyers included this issue. One for the Victorian Military Society if youare not a member you should be, tell them the Heliograph sent you.

The second flyer is from Principles of War, you read about it here why not try a subscription and see what it is all baout for yourself. There is no address on this flyer but send your response to John Hollyoak The Farrows, Offmore Court, Offmore Farm Close, Kidderminster DY10 3XJ Great Britain

John is very nice and he will not bite your head off, unless of course you don't subscribe so please do so now as John is about to ahhhgh, sorry got carried away with stupidity. All kidding aside please subscribe to this magazine.

If the number on the address label is 115 please resubscribe so you don't miss an issue.
